Job Purpose: 

  • To provide a high-quality experience for students, staff, and other customers who contact the College in person, via email and over the phone, and to provide efficient administrative support as required. 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Welcoming guests when they arrive, letting people know they are here, and guiding them to the waiting spot.
  • Answering the main phone line and sending calls to the right people or teams.
  • Writing down messages and giving them to the correct staff quickly.
  • Doing other admin tasks when needed, like keeping track of office costs.
  • Helping with accounts, such as keeping records of payments and managing small amounts of cash.
  • Making copies and scanning documents.
  • Making sure the reception area is clean and neat by managing the cleaning staff.
  • Helping to plan events.
  • Ordering office supplies and equipment, like paper, pens, and furniture.
  • Offering and serving drinks to clients when they arrive.
  • Following all health and safety rules.
  • Always acting in a professional manner.
  • Taking care of special requests as they come up.

Minimum Requirements:  

  • Grade 12/ Matric. 
  • Higher certificate or equivalent in office administration would be ideal. 
  • 1-2 years’ experience as a receptionist/ administrator
  • Experience within a higher education institute is preferable. 
  • Computer literate.

  • Good at meeting deadlines, even when things get stressful.

Working Hours:

Classes are scheduled from 08h00am until 17h00pm, Monday to Friday. Your working hours will depend on the modules allocated to you.
