POSITION PURPOSE
Takes care of the building’s upkeep. Does regular check-ups, puts in new machines, and helps with normal building care. Fills out papers for completed jobs and keeps all maintenance documents organized. Helps other workers when needed, fixes problems for different work groups, and keeps bosses updated.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Do all maintenance jobs you are given well.
- Regularly check buildings to find things that need fixing.
- Quickly and well handle maintenance requests from people living or working in the building.
- Quickly do tasks given by the building boss or area manager.
- Check all outside and inside main doors for problems (like broken glass or if they work right).
- Check the outside of buildings and find problem spots.
- Check and change light bulbs in bathrooms, lobbies, hallways, stairs, parking areas, and outside security areas.
- Check things in bathrooms (like faucets, sinks, and urinals).
- Check machines like air conditioners, backup pumps, sump pumps, water tanks, and fountains.
- Check fire equipment with the building boss.
- Learn how emergency equipment works and what to do in emergencies.
- Visually check electrical boxes for problems.
- Fix things or tell the boss about any problems.
- Figure out what maintenance is needed each day and talk to the boss about it.
- Keep a record of how equipment is working and what repairs are needed.
- Follow safety rules and procedures based on the law and company rules.
- Regularly do safety checks and write monthly reports.
- Make sure all OSHA rules are followed.
- Check the quality of work done when tenants set up things.
- Make sure places are ready before people move in.
- Help people moving in or moving walls.
- Help with big cleaning jobs when needed, even in high places. You will be trained if needed.
- Quickly tell your boss about tenant problems and things that need immediate fixing.
- Keep records of how repairs and upkeep turn out.
- Fill out job requests, lists of materials, and any needed forms.
- Keep equipment service logs up to date.
- Order tools and materials when told to.
- Get along well with coworkers and supervisors.
- Help other departments with their maintenance needs around the building.
- Keep work areas and the property clean, safe, and protected.
- Finish any special tasks you are given.
- Know emergency phone numbers and contractor information to help or fill in for the building manager.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Standard Eight (Grade 10) with training in maintenance and repair procedures. Training in high-level cleaning or working at heights is advantageous. Willing candidates will be provided training.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Basic maintenance knowledge and safety protocols. Ability to read and follow blueprints.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum of two years relevant maintenance experience.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Work independently, attention to detail, and solid hand-eye coordination.
