Winning Form Group – VIP Security Officer

SplashOut is hiring a VIP Security Officer for a position in Columbine, Durban North. The person hired will make sure everyone feels safe and secure. This might involve watching security cameras or walking around to check on things. The VIP officers should stop things from being stolen or lost and tell someone if they see anything strange or wrong.
Minimum requirements:
- Registered with PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority).
- Previous Security experience.
Advantageous:
- Valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities:
- Important people should arrive 15 minutes before the store opens.
- The VIP Officer must walk around the outside of the building before the store opens.
- VIPs should look for anything that seems strange around the building before the store opens.
- The VIP Officer needs to pay close attention to everything around them before the store opens or closes.
- After the store opens, the VIP Officer should walk around inside to make sure everything is okay.
- The VIP officer needs to finish all their checks before the Senior Team Leader does their daily checks.
- When opening and closing, one VIP should stand back and watch their partner for any possible threats.
- Patrolling should include checking inside and outside the entrance, the back areas, and all the parking areas.
- Make sure all walkie-talkies are fully charged for early use. Report any broken equipment right away.
- Charge the batteries overnight so they are ready to use at the start of your shift.
- Make sure the panic button and walkie-talkies are working and keep them in a safe place.
- VIP Officers need to carry their panic buttons, walkie-talkies, and earpieces so they can talk easily and get help quickly if there is an emergency.
The scanning area needs to have a scanner used on everyone entering the branch, even employees. The branch door or gate at the scanning area must always be closed. VIP Officers cannot scan guests of the opposite sex. Male guests must be scanned by male VIP Officers, and female guests by female VIP Officers. Female bags must be searched with a stick by VIP Officers. Male guests are not allowed to bring bags inside.
VIP Officers should manage traffic on the property, keeping foot traffic moving smoothly and controlling vehicles entering and exiting. At the end of the day, VIP Officers should close one door to limit access and improve security. VIPs also help with receiving stock, testing the alarm, and submitting the daily report each morning by 10:00 AM.
Guest Service
- First impressions last – VIP Officers are at the forefront of Hollywood.
- VIP Officers are the first encounter with the guest.
- Ensure to make the impression by greeting the Guest with “Good day, welcome to Hollywood”
- Ensure to provide good guest service by being friendly, helpful, polite and courteous at all times.
- Pro-actively address guest complaints and ensure guest feedback is communicated clearly in an effective and positive manner.
- Create a guest centric culture within the branch and drive the philosophy of “service with a smile” at all times.
- Ensure to treating our guest with respect and have the good attitude at all times.
- When Guest are leaving the branch VIP Officer to wish the guest good evening or good night and ask them to come again. “Good Bye Sir, please come again”.
Compliance
- VIP office workers must wear their complete Amadoda outfits and name tags before starting work. This includes black shoes, black socks, and a white vet.
- Check everyone who comes into the building, including employees.
- Watch guests as they leave. If you saw them enter with something that they don’t have when they leave, take note.
- Bags are not allowed inside.
- Guns and other weapons are prohibited, unless carried by a law enforcement officer on duty.
- People younger than 18 are not permitted inside.
- If a customer is being difficult, call for help from coworkers and hit the panic button before the problem gets worse.
- VIP officers cannot place bets while wearing their Amadoda uniform.
Code of Conduct
- When working, do not sit, relax, use your phone, or eat.
- Smoking is not allowed while working.
- Do not come to work drunk.
- Do not leave your assigned area. If you do, you may be punished.
- Sleeping while working is forbidden and will result in punishment.
- Do not chat with friends or coworkers while at your post.
- Do not take money from customers.

Other
- VIP Officer must report their absenteeism to the Senior Team Leader ,two hours before their shift begins.
- Able to work in a rotating shift /work flexible hour.
- Ensure the ability to work independently.
- Ensure you physical fitness is obtained at all times in line with the job requirements.
