Job Aim:
The data capturer’s job is to accurately enter HIV and TB information into the tracking systems based on the DCS program needs. They also need to send data on time, following THC’s monitoring and evaluation rules and the DCS and Health Department’s policies.
Minimum Requirements
- A high school certificate.
- A fitting diploma or degree is needed. If you don’t have one, you need at least 2 years of related work experience.
- You must have at least 3 years of experience dealing with data, making sure it’s correct, and ensuring its quality.
- Having experience with net data management is a must.
- Strong skills in managing tasks and staying organized are very important.
- Experience working in Correctional Services is helpful.
- Good computer skills, including using Microsoft Office, are needed.
- Being able to speak and write well in both English and isiZulu is a plus.
- You need a valid driver’s license (code 08).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collects all HIV and TB information from different places.
- Makes sure data is sent to the Regional Data Monitors on time.
- Keeps in touch with HIV/AIDS/TB counselors and health managers.
- Works with the Regional Data Monitor to check data regularly and ensure it is good.
- Files patient records, including blood test results, every day in an organized way.
- Goes to data meetings with different prisons regularly.
- Keeps signed copies of all monthly and quarterly data reports.
- Follows the rules to keep patient information private for the Department of Correctional Services, Department of Health, and THCA.
- Tells the Data Monitor about any problems with data collection right away.
- Keeps a record of daily tasks and reports them to the Data Monitor each month.
