Position: Driver for Technical Team
Location: Johannesburg, Midrand
Salary: R300 per day, R37,50 rate
Looking for a reliable driver to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the company’s field service activities. Your primary responsibility will be to safely transport team members, equipment, and materials to customer sites for installation, maintenance, and repair of water filtration systems and supporting the company’s technical team’s efforts to deliver high-quality service and support to customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport team members, equipment, and supplies to customer sites, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Assist in loading and unloading equipment, tools, and materials from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling, and securing of items during transportation.
- Plan and coordinate travel routes and schedules in collaboration with the technical team and dispatchers, optimizing efficiency, and minimizing travel time.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of company vehicles, including regular interior and exterior cleaning, fueling, and maintenance checks.
- Ensure that vehicles are stocked with necessary tools, spare parts, and safety equipment for field service operations, replenishing supplies as needed.
- Assist technical team members with on-site tasks, such as equipment setup, dismantling, troubleshooting, and repairs, as directed by supervisors.
- Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and dispatchers to provide updates on travel status, arrival times, and any issues or delays encountered during transit.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to vehicle operation, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, vehicle inspections, and maintenance activities, reporting any discrepancies or maintenance needs to the appropriate authorities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Code 10 Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a driver, preferably in a commercial or technical environment.
- Familiarity with local roadways, traffic patterns, and navigation tools.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused attitude.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies as needed.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high standards of safety and professionalism.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional overtime.
- Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance tasks and safety procedures is a plus.
