Junior Fire Fighter At Fidelity Services Group

Positions exist for the use and application of Firefighters within the Fidelity Group to respond and deal with any and all fire related incidents.
The main responsibilities include but are not limited to response of Fire incidents and firefighting, emergency rescue services, rendering basic medical care, fire prevention and training activities, operating and maintaining of firefighting equipment and apparatus and all related work as required under supervision in order to protect the lives and property of the clients of the Fidelity Group.

- Dealing with fires, rescues, and both urgent and non-urgent crisis situations.
- Handling incidents that involve dangerous materials.
- Freeing people who are trapped and doing emergency tasks as instructed by a supervisor.
- Reviving and caring for injured people and carrying out emergency tasks as instructed by a supervisor.
- Using different tools to control and put out fires.
- Using portable and stationary breathing devices.
- Doing fire prevention work in places where people or property could be in danger, using the right tools as instructed by supervisors.
- Getting ready for emergencies and prevention tasks, with guidance from more experienced team members and leaders.
- Taking part in practice drills, simulated events, and physical workouts as directed.
- Teaching all relevant staff the necessary knowledge and skills to combat fires.
- Providing recommendations on how to prevent and fix problems. Performing safety checks to make sure the environment is safe.
- Putting in place the needed steps, plans, and tools to help with local or national security, protecting information, people, organizations, and property.
- Doing simple upkeep on tools to ensure they are ready for use.
- Inspecting, washing, testing, and taking care of vehicles and tools.
- Filling out a digital log to keep accurate records of daily events.
Qualifications, experience, and other competencies required:
- Must have at least a Grade 12 education.
- Must have IFSAC Accreditation.
- Must have NFPA 1001 Firefighter 2 certification.
- Must be a Certified Firefighter II.
- Firefighting training and a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience are a must.
- Must have a current and clean driver’s license.
- Experience with advanced driving is a plus.
- Must be in good health and physical condition.
- Must have a solid grasp of and regularly use fire prevention methods.
- Must know about firefighting systems, including how fires are put out, and the types and science of fire.
- Must have a clean criminal history.
- Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies.
- Must have skills in office work, talking to people, and dealing with customers.
- Experience and knowledge of hazardous materials is needed.
- Must be EMT certified.
- Must have First Aid levels 1 through 3.
- Must be a Basic Ambulance Attendant.
Core Competencies:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Sound understanding of the Hazmat guidelines
- Sound understanding of the Security Industry and how to act within the code of conduct of the Group and Regulatory Authority.
- Sound understanding of fundamental elements related to firefighter instructor applications within an operational role.
