GENERAL WORKER REF NO: DSAC 2025/17

SALARY : R138 486 per annum (Level 02)

CENTRE : Muti Wa Va Tsonga

REQUIREMENTS :

• You need a basic education, like finishing grade 8 or 9.
• You should be able to talk to people well.
• You need to be healthy and strong, not allergic to grass, and able to handle stress and different outdoor work areas.
• It helps to know about buildings, how to fix them, and how to keep them clean, like taking care of paths, clearing bushes, making firebreaks, and stopping soil from washing away.

Your job will be to do regular upkeep on the museum or historical place.

You’ll clean and fix things: cutting grass, gathering materials, and using them to repair the buildings and grounds. You will clean the buildings and grounds, and take care of your tools.

You’ll also do landscaping, like guiding water to prevent soil erosion. You’ll clear bushes and weeds around the museum. You’ll make and keep up firebreaks.

You’ll fix the museum’s fence. You’ll do any other physical work needed to keep the museum in good shape.

REQUIREMENTS :

NQF level 1 or 2 (Grade 8 or 9) (AET/ABET level 2 certificate) from a recognized institution of Basic Education.

Abilities and Expertise:

• Must speak and write well.
• Must be healthy and strong, not allergic to grass, and able to handle stress and various outdoor work settings.
• Must know about different buildings and how to maintain and clean them, including things like caring for paved areas, clearing bushes, making firebreaks, and stopping soil erosion.

Responsibilities:

• Do regular tasks to keep the district in good shape.
• Make sure things are clean and well-kept: cut, gather, and use natural materials to fix and improve the area.
• Clean buildings and take care of assigned tools and equipment.
• Shape the land by managing water flow to prevent soil loss.
• Clear bushes and weeds from around buildings and areas.
• Build and maintain firebreaks around the district.
• Do any physical work needed to properly care for and maintain the area.
