Job Overview
Help families or individuals find the right healthcare and improve the health of people living in those homes. Send people for more check-ups and tests after doing some easy, basic health checks. Give some basic health help in people’s homes. Offer emotional support and handle things like finding people who have stopped treatment and helping them stick to their treatment plans.
Minimum Requirements
- Must have finished Grade 12.
- Should have worked with HIV patients before.
- Needs to live nearby and know the local area well.
- Should be open to various ways of helping people stick to their HIV medicine plans.
- Will need to find clients and provide help in their homes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Help patients with their personal cleanliness, such as bathing, hair washing, shaving men, nail trimming, and oral hygiene.
- Treat wounds using the right supplies.
- Give care for stomas, catheters, nails and feet, and tracheotomies.
- Teach patients and their families how to care for the patient at home and inform them about available help.
- Send patients to other healthcare places and providers when needed.
- Tell the supervisor if a patient’s condition gets worse.
- Find and sign up households.
- Help patients understand why you are there and encourage them to work with you.
