We are looking for Betting Clerks to work in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. Do you think you’re good enough to be our next Purple Star?

The right person will run the branch by handling customer bets, encouraging larger bets, managing money, processing payouts, helping customers, and following rules.

A Bonus To Have:

What You’ll Do For The Brand:

Branch Growth

  • Keep betting information displays current.
  • Quickly update notices about changes to cards, results, and scratches during the day.
  • Know all the betting rules, odds, and payouts well.
  • Staff should know the betting limits that need approval and always contact the Betting Support Center and Events Office before accepting a bet over that amount.
  • Staff must tell the Team Leaders or Betting Manager when they accept large bets that don’t need approval.

Sales Administration

  • Manage cash within the branch according to defined processes/procedures and minimize risks, Theft/fraud.
  • Team members are to be alert to emerging attempts to defraud the company.

Cash Management

  • Team members are to ensure they have the accurate float amounts at the beginning of their shift to ensure that balancing occurs at end of day.
  • Interim checks must be done within the course of the day with the team leader on duty.
  • Ensure that all cash shortages are dealt with immediately, shortages less than R250.00, must be paid back into the Hollywood taking on the same day by the team member.
  • Ensure that all shortages and overs are declared to the team leader on duty and correctly recorded on the recon.

Branch Appearance

  • Ensure that the branch is always neat and tidy according to Hollywood standards.
  • Ensure that your work stations is well maintained and in good working condition.
  • Comply with all procedures to prevent losses to the company, advising your branch /senior team leaders promptly of any problems/malfunction with the terminals /equipment/resources (e.g. TV display of results, Off-line)

Customer Service

  • Ensure to provide good customer service by being friendly, helpful, polite and courteous at all times.
  • Pro-actively address customer complaints and ensure that customers are given positive feedback.
  • Build strong relationships with regular customers.
  • Create a customer centric culture within the branch and drive the philosophy of “service with a smile” at all times.

Compliance

  • Follow the rules in the company’s control policies.
  • Stick to the ethical code and report any fraud.
  • Make sure you wear your Hollywood uniform correctly when working.
  • No team member can take bets on credit.
  • While working and wearing the Hollywood uniform, team members can’t take bets.
  • Team members can place bets as customers when they aren’t working and aren’t wearing the Hollywood uniform.
  • When team members are off duty, they can’t be behind the terminal counters.
  • Team members who are working cannot use the Limited pay-out machine.
